Alabama Predicted to Lose Recruiting Battle for 4-Star RB to Michigan

The Alabama Crimson Tide is in the mix for class of 2027 running back Tyson Robinson out of Jackson, Mississippi. At 5-foot-9 and 195 pounds, he is a four-star recruit, the No. 14 running back and the No. 210 player in the nation, per Rivals Industry Rankings.

They’ve already hosted the playmaker for five unofficial visits in Tuscaloosa, with an official one scheduled for June 5. However, they aren’t the only ones to get a close look. Robinson already took an official visit with the Arizona State Sun Devils (April 16) and has another scheduled with the Michigan Wolverines (June 12).

With a handful of suitors to choose from, the running back announced he will be making his commitment decision on May 16. Unfortunately for Alabama, Rivals’ vice president of recruiting, Steve Wiltfong, logged an expert prediction on Monday for Robinson to choose Michigan.

It would be a major addition for the Wolverines under new head coach Kyle Whittingham. So far, his staff has landed six commitments in the 2027 cycle, ranking eighth in the Big Ten and 22nd in the nation. He would be their first running back in the group.

Last season, Robinson was limited to just four games. However, as a sophomore at Brandon High School, he rushed for 1,295 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also had 42 receptions for 668 yards and 10 touchdowns.

On the other hand, this outcome would mean the Crimson Tide loses out on a talented running back recruit. However, they do have offers out to several other options, including five-star David Gabriel Georges, four-star Landen Williams-Callis, four-star Andrew Beard and four-star Trey Martin.
