Alabama reportedly loses commitment from 2028 offensive lineman

2028 four-star offensive lineman Anthony Blalock Jr. has reportedly decommitted from Alabama, per Rivals' Hayes Fawcett.

The 247Sports composite currently ranks Blalock ranks as the No. 255 overall recruit and No. 16 interior offensive lineman in the class of 2028. The Rivals industry ranks him as the No. 317 overall player and No. 29 offensive tackle in the class. Both have him as a top 10 player in the state of Ohio.

Blalock (6'6, 310) is out of Fitch High School in Austintown, Ohio (a suburb of Youngstown). He had been committed to Alabama since mid-July. This is not the biggest surprise as Blalock recently visited Michigan and Florida through the first four weeks of the season, and reportedly has plans on other visits as well.

With the de-commitment, Alabama now has the second ranked class in 2028 (had been first), per 247Sports, which now features five commits. Blalock had been the third-highest ranked recruit in the class.

While still over a year away from signing, Alabama continues to work on their 2028 class.
