The impressive season that Alabama State football turned in for the 2025 season keeps getting better.
On Monday, Dec. 1, the Southwestern Athletic Conference released its postseason All-SWAC honors, voted on by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.
The honors saw a new school record for the Hornets with 11 players being named to the coveted lists. Alabama State had five first-team selections and seven second-team selections in 2025.
Headlining the first-team selections are quarterback Andrew Body and receiver Jalen Jones.
Before going down with an injury in Week 10, Body was the best QB in the conference and the FCS in terms of efficiency. In eight games, Body finished with an efficiency rating of 203.55. Body led the conference in passing touchdowns with 20, and finished third in passing yards.
Jones became the first player under coach Eddie Robinson Jr. to reach 1,000 yards receiving in a season, and just the fifth in Alabama State football history. Jones led the SWAC in both receiving yards (1,167) and receiving touchdowns (9) in the 2025 season.
Rounding out the first-team selections are offensive lineman Cameron Smith and Elijah Baker, and defensive back Ta’Shaun Sims. Sims finished with five interceptions in 2025, tied for the best in the SWAC with Mississippi Valley State’s Jamari Stokes.
Offensive lineman Jeremiah Frazier was the lone offensive player for the Hornets to land on the second-team with linebacker Jalil Lenore, Keane Lewis and Deontre Morris landing on the second-team defense. Specialists Garrett Wilemon and Nehemiah Hixon also earned spots on the second team.
