Former Alabama offensive tackle Arkel Anugwom has officially committed to Northwestern, per ESPN's Max Olson.
Anugwom struggled to see the field during his time at Alabama. The 6’6”, 328 pound lineman is a dynamic player that could quickly emerge with a key role on the Northwestern offensive line, as Anugwom was buried on the Crimson Tide depth chart in 2025 despite having promising talent and elite strength. The Antioch, Tennessee native would more than likely struggle to see the field in 2026 again if he stayed in Tuscaloosa, but ultimately Anugom’s time with the Crimson Tide is offically over.
Anugwom was ranked as the No. 56 offensive tackle and the No. 755 overall player in the transfer portal last offseason where he transferred from Ball State, per 247Sports. Anugwom could easily thrive throughout his time at Northwestern, and the big man could finally get a true opportunity to showcase his abilities.
The Tide have lost a multitude of players on both sides of the football this offseason, as Alabama will have new faces on both sides of the football in 2026.
Northwestern has landed a commitment from Alabama transfer OL Arkel Anugwom, his rep @nick__wisinski of @3strandsports tells ESPN.
