No. 4 Alabama football plans to be “remembered by what (it) does in November,” in the words of quarterback Ty Simpson.

First in line? An LSU team in flux, one led by an interim coach after losing three of its last four games, each of which came against ranked SEC opponents.

The Crimson Tide is widely expected to continue LSU’s struggles. According to BetMGM, as of Wednesday Nov. 5, Alabama is a 10-point favorite against the Tigers as the Crimson Tide tries to continue a win streak at Bryant-Denny Stadium that dates to the 2023 season.

Alabama kicks off against LSU at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday, Nov. 8.

Can Simpson, Ryan Williams and the rest of Alabama set the tone for the month of November in prime time against LSU?

Here are our predictions for Alabama vs. LSU:

Alabama vs LSU predictions

  • Colin Gay: Who knows what LSU could look like with interim coach Frank Wilson? With two weeks to prepare for Alabama, the Tigers could lead with one of the better pass offenses and pass defenses in the SEC. But, especially facing an Alabama pass rush that is finding its footing, and the best passing offense that it has faced all season, LSU has a tall task, one that should continue the Crimson Tide’s SEC success.
  • Chase Goodbread: A lower-scoring affair could be in order. LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier has struggled to be effective behind an underperforming offensive line. A full house at Bryant-Denny Stadium won’t make it any easier for him. But it likely won’t be an easy night for Alabama’s offense, either.

Alabama vs LSU scouting report: What we’re watching

  • Colin Gay: LSU has one of the better pass defenses in the SEC as one of six teams in the conference to allow less than 200 passing yards per game. The Tigers succumbed to passing attacks of teams like Ole Miss, while relatively limiting Marcel Reed and Texas A&M. Can Simpson and the Crimson Tide aerial attack take advantage of an LSU secondary that specializes in man coverage, especially if Alabama’s run game continues to take a back seat?
  • Chase Goodbread: Notwithstanding its collapse against Texas A&M, the LSU defense has carried this team throughout the season. They’re talented, fast and aggressive, and will welcome back LB Whit Weeks from injury. This likely won’t be the week that Alabama discovers a rushing attack.

Alabama vs LSU score predictions

  • Colin Gay: No. 4 Alabama 32, LSU 21
  • Chase Goodbread: No. 4 Alabama 23, LSU 17
