Alabama wide receiver named to top college football award watch list

Revealed on Monday afternoon, Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams has been selected to the preseason watch list for the 2026 Maxwell Award.

Coleman-Williams was Alabama's lone player selected to the Maxwell Award preseason watch list, which featured 80+ names from across the country. The award is one familiar to the Crimson Tide program, as Alabama won the Maxwell five times during the Nick Saban era.

Those winners were AJ McCarron (2013), Derrick Henry (2015), Tua Tagovailoa (2018), DeVonta Smith (2020), and Bryce Young (2021).

The junior is entering his third season in Tuscaloosa cemented as Alabama's top wide receiver on the depth chart. Coleman-Williams had 49 receptions last season for 689 yards and four touchdowns, and across his two seasons with the Crimson Tide, has hauled in a combined 97 catches for 1,554 yards and 12 scores.

Alabama is set to officially begin the 2026 season at home Saturday, Sept. 5, against East Carolina. The game will begin at noon ET on ABC.
