Alabama football lost to Oklahoma on Saturday night and dropped in the latest Top 25 polls as a result. But did the Crimson Tide drop far enough?
Kalen DeBoer's team fell to Brent Venables' team at home on Saturday night. The Crimson Tide fell to the Sooners, 23-21. Alabama dropped to 8-2 on the season with the loss. The Crimson Tide remain alive for the College Football Playoff, but it's far from a guarantee that they will make it.
"I'm not a boastful or braggadocious kind of guy, but man, I'm going to brag on our guys, and they deserve it," Venables said postgame. "They put a lot into this opportunity, and we've created vision for that, so I got to follow through. I'm like, 'Hey, man, this is what victory looks like. This is how we're going to do it. And I want to see you guys dancing, carrying on, just having some joy in the moment.'"
Alabama dropped from No. 4 to No. 10 in the AP Poll Top 25 following Saturday night's loss. The Crimson Tide are still ranked above BYU, Vanderbilt, Utah, Miami, Georgia Tech and USC, among other teams.
Are the Crimson Tide ranked too high?
Some fans believe that Alabama remains overrated
"Way too high . With the last 2 performances and getting beat at home the way they did, they shouldn’t be in top 20," one fan wrote.
"If Saban was still there it would be 8 or 7," one fan added.
'Alabama is stumbling for the second season in a row at the wrong time. This was the third game of poor play. The Defense is the only consistent. KD wins and has a track record of Winning. Does he have a Championship winning ability, that's the question I have?" one fan added.
"Not low enough. We’ve been overrated for weeks," one fan added.
