Alabama may be better known for college football, but high school football in the state is not so quietly becoming one of the most important hotbeds for elite talent.

Year in and year out, the state produces some of the best players in the country. This year's class is no different. From a legacy quarterback destined to shine at the next level to a plethora of linemen and skill positions ready for college ball, there aren't many states with better 2027 recruits than what Alabama has this year.

Here's a look at the top 10 players from the Yellowhammer State in the 2027 class.

1. Gunner Rivers, St. Michael Catholic (Fairhope)

Position: Quarterback

Height: 6-3.5

Weight: 205

Commitment: NC State

Football recruiting notes: Gunner, who is the son of former NFL quarterback Phillip Rivers, was excellent during his junior season. He completed 69% of his passes for 3,176 yards and 46 touchdowns.

2. Jaylen Scott, Williamson (Mobile)

Position: Safety

Height: 6-0

Weight: 165

Commitment: Oklahoma

Football recruiting notes: Scott put up massive numbers for the 12-1 Lions in 2025. He recorded 104 tackles, 15 pass breakups, five interceptions and a pair of tackles for loss.

3. Donivan Moore, Hueytown

Position: Defensive Lineman

Height: 6-4

Weight: 280

Commitment: Auburn

Football recruiting notes: Auburn landed a massive in-state win in February when Moore announced his commitment to the Tigers. He's set to return to campus on June 5 for an official visit alongside officials to Alabama (May 29) and Ole Miss (June 12).

4. JaBarrius Garror, Vigor (Mobile)

Position: EDGE

Height: 6-2.5

Weight: 215

Commitment: Uncommitted

Football recruiting notes: Garror is a force up front, even if many consider him undersized coming off the edge. That didn't hinder him much last season as he finished the year with 106 tackles, 32.5 tackles for loss and 21 sacks.

5. Jatori Williams, Central (Phenix City)

Position: Interior Offensive Lineman

Height: 6-5

Weight: 320

Commitment: Uncommitted

Football recruiting notes: Keeping Williams in his home state has to be a priority for the Crimson Tide and Tigers, but it won't be easy. He currently has official visits scheduled to Georgia (May 29), Miami (June 5) and Kentucky (June 19).

6. Trent Seaborn, Thompson (Alabaster)

Position: Quarterback

Height: 6-1

Weight: 200

Commitment: Alabama

Football recruiting notes: Seaborn's senior year will mark the fifth season he's run the show for the Warriors' offense. Last year, he completed 71.5% of his passes for 3,692 yards and 35 touchdowns while also rushing for five more touchdowns.

7. Junior James, Thompson (Alabaster)

Position: Safety

Height: 6-3

Weight: 192

Commitment: Uncommitted

Football recruiting notes: One of the many defensive standouts on the Warriors' defense, James looks like a college safety. Last season, he recorded 66 tackles, seven pass breakups, five tackles for loss, and three sacks.

8. Cam Pritchett, Thompson (Alabaster)

Position: EDGE

Height: 6-3

Weight: 231

Commitment: Oregon

Football recruiting notes: Pritchett committed to the Ducks ahead of his junior year and showed Oregon fans what they should expect out of him when he gets to campus. He finished 2025 with 92 tackles, 16 quarterback hurries, 14 tackles for loss, three sacks and a pair of fumble recoveries.

9. Jamison Roberts, Saraland

Position: Quarterback

Height: 6-2.5

Weight: 190

Commitment: Oklahoma

Football recruiting notes: Roberts was elite in leading the Spartans to a 13-1 record and a state championship appearance. He completed his junior season with 3,370 yards and 37 touchdowns through the air on 73% completion percentage.

10. Elijah Brown, Prattville

Position: Defensive Lineman

Height: 6-4

Weight: 285

Commitment: Uncommitted

Football recruiting notes: Brown remains uncommitted, but Auburn appears to be the leader in his recruitment entering the spring. He's visited the Tigers more than any other team and will likely be back in the summer for an official visit.
