AUBURN — Jacob Bronowski will serve as Auburn football‘s special teams coordinator under new head coach Alex Golesh, the program announced Thursday, Dec. 11.

Bronowski arrives on the Plains after two seasons at Pitt, where he held the same coordinator role and also coached tight ends. He’s the ninth official addition to Golesh’s Auburn staff, and presumably the final coordinator hire.

“I am fired up for Jacob to join our staff,” Golesh said in a news release. “His track record is outstanding. He developed multiple national award contenders, including a Lou Groza Award-winner, and has led some of the top special teams units in the country. I saw up close when we worked together before that Coach Bronowski understands that special teams can be a championship difference-maker, and he’s proven he can develop elite specialists.”

Golesh and Bronowski overlapped at both Central Florida and Tennessee, where the latter served in low-level roles on special teams staffs.

In 2025, Pitt freshman Trey Butkowski earned All-ACC honors under Bronowski’s watch and was a Lou Groza Award semifinalist. Miami (Ohio) kicker Graham Nicholson won the Lou Groza Award in 2023 while Bronowski served as the Redhawks special teams coordinator.
