Andre' Sam, Eagles safety, injured in preseason game vs Bengals

Philadelphia Eagles safety Andre' Sam suffered an apparent leg injury during the third quarter of the team's third NFL preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Lincoln Financial Field.

Sam was hurt while involved in a tackle of Bengals running back Kentrel Bullock up the middle to the Bengals' 26-yard line for a six-yard gain.

Sam received an ovation from the crowd and gave a thumbs-up as he was carted off the field.

"You can see he's emotional," CBS color analyst Ross Tucker said. "You hate seeing that for anybody. He was having a terrific game."

When the Eagles won the Super Bowl in 2024, Sam spent most of the season on the team's practice squad.
