Over the summer, Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr attending the Manning Passing Academy, and by all accounts he performed at an extremely high level.

On Tuesday John Brice of the USA TODAY got into the details about his performance, as he spoke with a coach who wanted to remain anonymous. The unnamed coach said “I had some classroom stuff with Carr. Unbelievable dude. Throwing the football? I’m taking Carr every day of the week.”

That wasn’t all Brice found out, as he spoke with an NFC scout that thinks “the class can be elite,” which also includes Oregon’s Dante Moore, Texas’ Arch Manning and Ohio State’s Julian Sayin. All four of these quarterbacks will be battling it out this fall not only to make it to the College Football Playoff, but to improve their draft stock as well.

Carr already has first-round hype, all of them do right now. The season will go a long way to show who is really the best, and to have a quarterback in the conversation is a testament to how Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman has transformed the program.
