Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has married longtime girlfriend Shannon Jackson after six years together. The Anthony Edwards wedding was confirmed by the Minnesota Star Tribune who checked the Minnesota marriage records, which show the couple wed in Hennepin County on July 16.
Fans began discussing the marriage after Edwards appeared at Fanatics Fest in New York on July 17 wearing a black band on his left ring finger. The Minnesota Star Tribune reported that a Hennepin County marriage certificate confirmed Edwards and Jackson had married the previous day. Page Six said representatives for Edwards did not immediately respond to its request for comment.
Edwards, 24, and Jackson have been publicly linked since 2020. They welcomed their daughter, Aislynn, in March 2024. The Netflix documentary “Starting 5” captured Edwards leaving a Timberwolves home game against the Sacramento Kings at halftime so he could join Jackson at the hospital for their daughter’s birth.
Their relationship has unfolded alongside Edwards’ rise into one of the NBA’s most recognizable young stars. Minnesota selected him with the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. He has since become a four-time All-Star, won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics and led the Timberwolves through the most successful postseason stretch in franchise history.
Edwards’ marriage follows a period of public scrutiny involving paternity and child support disputes connected to the athlete and other women. Page Six reported that Jackson continued supporting Edwards and attending his games while those matters unfolded publicly.
The marriage news comes as the guard prepares for his seventh NBA season. Edwards has completed the second season of a five-year contract worth about $245 million and will enter the deal’s third year as the centerpiece of Minnesota’s championship ambitions.
