For the first time this college football season, FBS football will played under Friday night lights.

Headlining the Friday, Sept. 4, schedule is No. 7 Miami, which will take a cross-country flight to California to face former Pac-12 team Stanford in an 8 p.m. ET kickoff to begin in ACC play.

No. 14 Southern California — perhaps with a higher turnout after a sparse Week 0 crowd against San Jose State — is back in action against Fresno State. Trojans quarterback Jayden Maiava completed 25-of-29 passes for 286 yards in Week 0, finishing with three total touchdowns.

Coming off an offseason in which he changed his mechanics due to his thumb injury from last season, John Mateer begins his second season at Oklahoma. The ninth-ranked Sooners, whose defense is expected to be one of the top in the country, host UTEP in Norman at 8 p.m. ET.

Friday's schedule of college football games will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPNU; Fox; Fox Sports 1; and the Big Ten Network. Streaming options for those games include either the ESPN or Fox Sports Go apps (with a TV login). Another option is Fubo, which offers a free trial to new subscribers.

Several games will be streamed exclusively on ESPN+, ESPN's subscription streaming service.
