The Oregon Ducks came into Stillwater ready to put their Week 1 scare against Boise State behind them. But Oregon left the field feeling even worse about themselves.

Oklahoma State took down the No. 6-ranked Ducks 39-31, stunning one of the top teams in the country. For the second straight week, Oregon didn't look like the team that many expected them to be coming into the season.

Oregon's defense couldn't do much against Cowboys quarterback Drew Mestemaker, who threw for 317 yards and two touchdowns. Oklahoma State took it to the Ducks, scoring 21 in the second quarter.

But with this upset loss, are the National Championship dreams of the Ducks gone?

Many will say yes following the loss to unranked Oklahoma State. This loss also comes after Oklahoma State lost to Tulsa last week, only putting up 10 points.

However, in reality, the Ducks still have a strong path to the College Football Playoff. That path is just a little harder now after the loss today.

Oregon will be taking on the USC Trojans in two weeks on the road, offering this team a chance to earn a massive win. If the Ducks can take down USC, it would at least put them back on course to salvage the season.

The Ducks will also be traveling to Columbus for a matchup with the Ohio State Buckeyes. If the Ducks can get a win here, it would cement them as the title contenders that many believed they could be entering the season.

Oregon also has games against the Michigan Wolverines and Washington Huskies at home. Each of these can help propel the Ducks to a spot in the College Football Playoff if a win were to ensue.

But make no mistake, this loss to Oklahoma State puts a stain on the Ducks' resume. And it could hurt them down the stretch in any possible tie-breaking situations with the playoff committee.

Oregon no longer has any wiggle room, and another loss this season will effectively end the dream season that was supposed to happen.

Quarterback Dante Moore will need to play better after throwing just 191 yards against Oklahoma State. But this entire team has to play with more urgency than they have through the first two weeks of the season.

The pressure is really on the Ducks moving forward, and Dan Lanning's team will need to be perfect every step of the way. Oregon will have a chance to get back on track next Friday against Portland State at home.
