Arizona football opens as small underdog at Cincinnati

For the fifth consecutive game, the spread for Arizona football’s upcoming contest is less than a touchdown. That’s life in the Big 12.

Arizona is a 6.5-point underdog for its road game at Cincinnati Saturday, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The line opened a 4.5 points but bettors quickly jumped on the Bearcats. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m. MST on FS1.

Arizona (6-3) is coming off a 24-20 win over Kansas that secured the Wildcats bowl eligibility. Arizona covered the opening spread of 3.5 points, but by game time the UA was favored by as many as 5.5 points.

Arizona is now 5-4 against the spread (ATS) this season.

The Cincinnati game is the second contest that the Wildcats are road underdogs this year, the other being the 39-14 loss at Iowa State (Arizona was favored at Houston and at Colorado).

Under Brent Brennan, Arizona is 2-6 ATS on the road as well as 2-6 overall.

Arizona is facing a Cincinnati team coming off a bye week. The prior week, the Bearcats (7-2) were shelled 45-14 at Utah.

Cincinnati is 6-3 ATS this season, including 4-2 as favorites.
