The Arizona State football team played a tough schedule in 2025. It won't get any easier next season because the Sun Devils have to play both teams that appeared in the Big 12 championship game on the road.
Schedules were released on Jan. 21. The good news is ASU will not have weather-impacted games at the end of the season.
ASU, coming off an 8-5 showing, begins Big 12 play early in the Union Jack Classic on Sept. 19 at Wembley Stadium in London against Kansas. Opening week is usually a non-conference game, but next season the Sun Devils will play their third non-conference game in Week 6 against Hawaii on Oct. 10.
A showdown against defending Big 12 champion Texas Tech comes on Oct. 17 in Lubbock. ASU is 1-1 against the Red Raiders since joining the conference. Texas Tech's only regular-season loss this past season was to the Sun Devils in Tempe.
ASU plays BYU in Provo on Oct. 31. The other road games are at Central Florida on Nov. 14 and rival Arizona in Tucson on Nov. 28.
Home games are against Baylor, Kansas State, Colorado, and Oklahoma State.
One notable absence is Utah, a school that ASU played the first two years in the Big 12 and each year both were in the Pac-12.
The nonconference schedule was already known, and ASU has an even more difficult one than last year's. The Sun Devils get another SEC opponent on the road, at Texas A&M, which qualified for the College Football Playoff. They played Mississippi State last fall, losing on the road.
The other two nonconference opponents are at home, Hawaii, which finished 9-4 with a win over Cal in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, and FCS Morgan State. Morgan State was a replacement for Bowling Green, which backed out of the previously scheduled game. ASU kicks off the season at Mountain America Stadium against Morgan State on Sept. 5.
In addition, the Big 12 championship game is moving from a Saturday, 11 a.m. start to a 6 p.m. time slot on Friday, Dec. 4.
