San Diego here they come.

Brett McMurphy of On3.com is reporting that Arizona will play in the Holiday Bowl, representing the Pac-12 against an opponent from the ACC. The game is set for Jan. 2 at 6 p.m. MT with Fox airing the contest.

Arizona (9-3) will be making their third appearance in the Holiday Bowl, beating Nebraska in 1998 to cap the greatest season in school history and also getting shut out by the Cornhuskers in the 2009 game. Those matchups were at Qualcomm Stadium, while the current venue for the Holiday Bowl is Snapdragon Stadium, where Arizona opened the 2022 season with a 38-20 win over San Diego State.

The Wildcats’ opponent in San Diego will be determined based on the outcome of the ACC championship game between Virginia and Duke. Potential opponents include Georgia Tech, Miami, Pittsburgh and SMU.

The UA is 41-38-2 against current members of the ACC, though 68 of those matchups have come against former Pac-12 foes Cal and Stanford.

Arizona, which is 10-11-1 in bowl games, will be playing in one for the second time in three years, having beat Oklahoma in the Alamo Bowl in 2023. The Wildcats last won consecutive bowl games in 2012-13.

A win in San Diego would extend the UA’s win streak to six and get it to 10 victories in a season for just the fifth time in school history.
