A day after Auburn landed two 2027 three-star commitments, the Tigers’ momentum in recruiting continued. On Monday, three-star athlete Nasir Banks committed to the Tigers, per Christian Clemente of 247Sports. That puts the Tigers now at 22 commitments for the 2027 class, and they are currently ranked in the top ten.

Banks, like Preston Williams, plays safety but was recruited as an athlete by the Tigers. He is rated as the No. 122 safety and the No. 134 overall player in Georgia.

He plays at McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia, where he is a teammate of Auburn commit Nash Johnson II. His close relationship with Johnson could have been a contributing factor in making this pledge to Auburn. Banks also told 247Sports that Auburn feels like family and that it feels like home.

If both Williams and Banks play in the secondary, that will make six defensive backs committed to the 2027 class. At cornerback, the Tigers have received pledges from Johnson and Aidyn Wiggins, who are both three-star players. At safety, Auburn currently has four-star Chance Gilbert and three-star Knyair Crumb.

Auburn is currently fifth among SEC teams in recruiting behind Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Texas, and Florida.
