The Auburn Tigers are getting some much-needed good news when it pertains to the wide receiver room. A pair of South Florida Bulls in Christian Neptune and Kory Pettigrew, have committed to Auburn per Jeffrey Lee of Rivals. This comes from the news over the weekend that both Sam Turner and Bryce Cain were returning to the Tigers.

The South Florida Bulls were one of the best offenses in all of college football during the 2025 season. The team ranked third nationally, averaging 488.7 yards per game. The two teams above them were North Texas and Ole Miss. Both Neptune and Pettigrew factored into those big numbers. Neptune tied for second on the team with 38 receptions and picked up 335 yards, scoring one touchdown. While the yards per catch average was just 8.8 yards, those are still solid numbers for a freshman wide receiver. His best game was in a 24-10 Cure Bowl defeat against Old Dominion. In that game, he caught nine passes for 102 yards.

For Pettigrew, he did not factor as much into the South Florida offense in 2025. He caught only three passes for just 28 yards. He is also a freshman who was rated as a three-star recruit by 247Sports when he signed with the Bulls for the 2025 class. Pettigrew played high school football in Georgia at Perry High School. As a senior, Pettigrew caught 72 passes for 768 yards and five touchdowns.

Auburn is more than likely not done adding some former players of Alex Golesh at South Florida. Most analysts are predicting that quarterback Byrum Brown will join the Tigers. Another Bulls receiver currently in the transfer portal is KeShaun Singleton, who was the leading receiver for the Bulls with 877 yards and eight touchdowns. If Brown does commit to Auburn, he will have plenty of familiar faces to throw to.
