AUBURN — With a need for experience in the trenches, Auburn football got a second considerable pickup Monday, Jan. 12, signing South Florida transfer Cole Best, a source confirmed to the Montgomery Advertiser.
Best was the second South Florida offensive line transfer to sign with the Tigers on Monday, joining Cole Skinner. The Tigers also added Oregon State quarterback Tristan Ti’a and Florida State cornerback Shamar Arnoux to their transfer class Monday, bringing Auburn‘s incoming transfer total to 25. Best’s signing also made him the 13th player set to follow Alex Golesh from South Florida to Auburn.
Best, who has one year of eligibility remaining, was a starter on the Bulls‘ offensive line the past two seasons. A member of the South Florida program since 2021, Best has played a combined 1,572 snaps the past four seasons.
He made his first career start in 2024, taking over the center spot for the Bulls’ final six games. He started at the same spot for every game of South Florida’s latest regular season, and he surrendered 11 pressures and three sacks in 313 opportunities.
