AUBURN — The recruiting inroads of Alex Golesh‘s Auburn football coaching staff paid dividends with its latest transfer portal addition, as Notre Dame wide receiver transfer Scrap Richardson has signed with the program, a source confirmed to the Montgomery Advertiser.
Richardson, a former four-star prospect, joined the Fighting Irish out of high school, backing off a long-held commitment to Golesh’s South Florida squad. His move to Plains is also expected to come with a position change, with Richardson moving to cornerback.
The rising redshirt freshman didn’t log a snap with the Fighting Irish, though he caught two passes for 22 yards and one touchdown in Notre Dame’s spring game.
With Richardson in the fold, Auburn‘s up to 29th transfers, and Richardson will be the fifth transfer addition to Auburn’s secondary.
