Auburn football has landed its quarterback commitment for its 2027 recruiting class.
Gary Chatman Jr, a three-star quarterback from Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia, announced his commitment to the Auburn Tigers on Saturday. His pledge comes days after several recruiting experts submitted predictions favoring Auburn to land the talented Georgia quarterback following his decommitment from Wake Forest.
The mutual interest between Auburn and Chatman has grown drastically over the last month. Auburn offered the 6-foot quarterback on April 22, and Chatman decommitted from Wake Forest on May 5, ending a pledge that lasted 41 days. Chatman also holds FBS offers from programs such as West Virginia, Iowa State, Georgia State, Texas State, and UAB.
Chatman is the No. 57 quarterback from the 2027 recruiting cycle, and the No. 122 prospect from the state of Georgia according to 247Sports. Auburn’s 2027 haul ranked No. 43 in 247Sports’ recruiting rankings before Chatman’s commitment, with Auburn’s five-member class headlined by four-star running back Myson Johnson-Cook.
