Auburn is in the running to land one of the top EDGE rushers from the 2026 recruiting cycle.
Jordan Carter, a four-star EDGE rusher from Douglas County High School in Douglasville, Georgia, recently de-committed from Texas A&M and will now focus on four high-profile programs, including the Auburn Tigers. According to a report by Hayes Fawcett of Rivals, Carter has included Auburn among his top four schools, joining Georgia Tech, Texas, and Tennessee.
Carter backed off his Texas A&M pledge on Nov. 1 after being committed to the program for over a year. However, late pushes from Auburn and in-state program Georgia Tech made him rethink his commitment. According to Rivals, Carter has visited Auburn five times, more than any other program, and will take his official visit during Iron Bowl weekend.
Auburn football’s 2026 recruiting class has suffered minimal damage since the firing of Hugh Freeze on Nov. 2, with three-star running back Eric Perry being the class’s lone de-commit. Auburn’s 2026 class ranks No. 38 nationally according to 247Sports’ rankings with 13 commitments, headlined by five-star safety Bralan Womack.
Carter is the No. 22 EDGE from the 2026 cycle according to Rivals’ industry ranking, and is the No. 19 player from Georgia.
