AUBURN — There’s “nothing catastrophic” on the injury front for Auburn football, head coach Alex Golesh explained Tuesday, March 17. But the Tigers have a few players on the mend as spring practices start.
The two biggest names to know are defensive back Champ Anthony and offensive lineman Stanton Ramil. The former’s in “return-to-play protocol,” Golesh said, but the program’s pointedly working to get him back to full strength.
“I think we’re probably guarded there, with letting him get back,” Golesh said. “It’d be awesome to have him. He’s such a vocal leader back there. He’s truly the pulse of the secondary.”
Ramil, who transferred from Michigan State, is rehabbing an offseason surgery. He was visibly present as Auburn‘s practice Tuesday, but he’s trying to get to campus this semester, Golesh said.
Offensive lineman Jacob Strand, linebacker Demarcus Riddick, safety Jack Luttrell and tight end Jonathan Echols were non-contact uniforms Tuesday, which correlated with Golesh’s injury estimations. He said the Tigers four or five guys “truly, hopefully” as the end of a return from injury.
