Auburn football is making a splash with one of the state's top defensive backs from the 2027 recruiting cycle.

Following a recent visit to the Plains, four-star defensive back Jayden Apiricio-Bailey recapped his visit with Jeffrey Lee of Rivals by sharing how welcoming the coaching staff was and how competitive spring practice drills were. The visit was quite successful, as Auburn has gained ground in Apiricio-Bailey's recruitment.

“Auburn’s definitely risen to the top since this visit,” Apiricio-Bailey said in his interview with Lee and Rivals.

Apiricio-Bailey said that his relationship with the new Auburn head football coach, Alex Golesh, was strong. Still, his interest in Auburn has risen greatly since he set foot on campus for a visit.

Apiricio-Bailey is a part of a talented 2027 class from Prattville High School that features five players in Rivals' top-50 Alabama recruits from the cycle. He is the No. 25 safety from the 2027 class, and is the No. 17 recruit from Alabama according to Rivals' Industry Ranking. Outside of Auburn, Apiricio-Bailey is interested in Georgia, Tennessee, Clemson, and South Carolina.

Auburn's 2027 class ranks No. 42 in Rivals' rankings with two commitments.
