Auburn football has made the final cut in the recruitment of the nation's No. 4 running back ahead of his scheduled commitment date.

Myson Johnson-Cook, a four-star running back from East St. Louis, Illinois, included Auburn in his top five schools this week and will choose between Auburn, LSU, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Miami on Saturday, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.

Johnson-Cook recently took a multi-day visit to Auburn and will take his official visit to campus on June 5. During a recent interview with Rivals, Johnson-Cook said he clicked quickly with Auburn offensive coordinator Joel Gordon and believes he is "in tune" with the Auburn offensive scheme.

Johnson-Cook looks to be the first high school running back to sign with Auburn since the 2025 cycle, when the Tigers landed Alvin Henderson and Omar Mabson. Auburn currently has the No. 60 recruiting class for 2027 with two pledges: four-star defensive lineman Donivan Moore and three-star tight end George Lamons.

Johnson-Cook is the No. 4 running back in the 2027 class according to 247Sports, and the No. 3 player from Illinois in the cycle.
