Auburn football will certainly miss Keldric Faulk as he begins preparing to enter the NFL draft. However, the "next man up" may have signed with Auburn out of the transfer portal on Saturday.

Da'Shawn Womack, an EDGE rusher formerly of Ole Miss, signed with Auburn on Saturday. Womack is a four-star transfer EDGE according to 247Sports, and joins Baylor running back transfer Bryson Washington as the team's second-highest-rated transfer signee with a rating of 0.9200. The duo trails only USF transfer quarterback Byrum Brown for the top spot.

Womack played his first two seasons at LSU before transferring to Ole Miss ahead of the 2025 season. He took a step forward by recording 27 tackles with two sacks and a forced fumble. He made six tackles during Ole Miss' recent College Football Playoff run, including four against Tulane in the first round.

Womack played high school football at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, a program that has developed quite the pipeline to Auburn. Auburn has five players on their roster who played for the national high school football power, including defensive back Blake Woodby and linebacker Bryce Deas. Auburn also signed safety Wayne Henry from St. Frances as part of its 2026 signing class.
