Auburn football to host 2028 RB Jacez Walton for spring visit

Auburn football is catching the eye of one of the top running backs in the 2028 recruiting cycle from Georgia.

Jacez Walton, a three-star running back from Central High School in Carrollton, Georgia, has revealed his unofficial visit schedule for the spring, which includes Auburn. He will visit Auburn later this month on March 21, and will visit Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, and Notre Dame before April 26.

Walton, who attends high school 85 miles from Auburn, shared what stands out about Auburn early in the recruiting process.

"I like how close it is to home and the facilities and campus," Walton tells Auburn Wire. "What makes Auburn stand out compared to other schools in my recruiting process is how they have a whole new staff, and I’m excited to meet all of them."

Walton was a quality complementary back to his brother, Notre Dame signee Jonaz Walton, last season as a 10th grader by rushing for 840 yards and 10 touchdowns, which played a large role in Central finishing the season with a 12-1 record and a quarterfinal appearance in the GHSA Class AAAA playoffs. This season, Walton is poised to take over the role of premier running back and boost his stock in the recruiting world.

Walton is a three-star running back according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings. He is the No. 11 running back in the 2028 recruiting cycle and is the No. 19 player from Georgia.
