Auburn football star Cam Coleman is planning to enter the transfer portal, according to multiple reports. The transfer portal officially opens Jan. 2 and lasts through Jan. 16.
Coleman, a second-year player in 2025, caught 56 passes for 708 yards with five touchdowns, despite the Tigers’ limited offensive production. The former five-star recruit is the No. 1-ranked player intending to enter the transfer portal so far, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings.
The 6-foot-3 receiver was the No. 3-ranked player of the 2024 recruiting class, also tabbed as the No. 2 receiver and No. 1 player in Alabama. He chose Auburn over LSU, Texas A&M and Clemson.
Coleman finished his true freshman season with 37 receptions for 598 yards with eight touchdowns. He caught seven passes for 128 yards with two touchdowns in Auburn’s 43-41 overtime win over Texas A&M, where he was formerly committed, in 2024.
He’s currently one of two five-star transfer portal recruits, along with Penn State edge rusher Chaz Coleman.
Auburn fired former coach Hugh Freeze midseason and hired South Florida’s Alex Golesh as his replacement on Nov. 30. Coleman joins Horatio Fields, Perry Thompson and Malcolm Simmons as other former Auburn receivers to announce their transfer portal intentions.
Coleman will be highly sought-after in the transfer portal.
