One of Auburn football's top 2027 recruiting targets has locked in his commitment date.

The Auburn Tigers have one month to perfect their pitch to Karlos May, a four-star defensive tackle from Ramsay High School in Birmingham. May tells Chad Simmons of Rivals that he will lock in his commitment on Saturday, July 18, and will choose between Auburn, Georgia, Florida State, and Ohio State.

May is a highly sought-after recruit in the 2027 cycle. He is the No. 11 defensive lineman from the class and the fifth-ranked player from Alabama.

He earned respect by logging 43 tackles for Ramsay in 2025, with eight tackles going for a loss, which included four sacks. His 6-foot-3, 305-pound frame is also enticing to the top college coaches across the country.

May tells Simmons that he recently enjoyed his trip to Auburn last weekend, where he learned how he would be used in the Tigers' defensive scheme. However, Auburn will need to outwork the two programs viewed as the favorites, Georgia and Ohio State, over the next month to land him and lock up another quality in-state talent.

Auburn holds 19 commitments in its 2027 recruiting class, with 11 blue-chip pledges. The Tigers' good fortune on the recruiting trail has them in the top 15 of both 247Sports and Rivals 2027 rankings.
