Auburn wide receiver named to Biletnikoff Award preseason watchlist

One of the most exciting wide receivers on Auburn football's roster has been included on a preseason award watchlist.

The Biletnikoff Award released its preseason award watchlist on Wednesday, which included Auburn wide receiver Keshaun Singleton. The award is given annually to the most outstanding wide receiver, tight end, or any player who catches a pass hence, such as slot receivers and running backs.

Singleton joins fellow SEC pass catchers including LSU's Tre Brown, Alabama's Ryan Williams-Coleman, Tennessee's Mike Matthews, and former Auburn wide receiver Cam Coleman, who now plays for the Texas Longhorns. In all, the SEC is represented by 12 players on the Biletnikoff Award preseason watchlist.

Singleton joins Auburn's roster after spending two outstanding seasons with the USF Bulls and head coach Alex Golesh. A low-rated wide receiver out of high school, Singleton signed with USF and became a valuable piece to the Bulls offense. He joins Auburn's roster with over 1,000 receiving yards and was the top target for new Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown last season by hauling in 50 catches for 877 yards and eight scores. This season, the duo aims to continue the trend of being a reliable piece of each other's games.

Golesh was complementary of Singleton during a recent media availability, saying that he is proud of the way Singleton has bought in to the process since joining the Tigers' roster.

"When (Singleton's) off-the-field process is right, he can be as special as there is in the country. And he has done that," Golesh said this week (via Auburn Observer). It's just being fully committed to this process, It's all come together for him this summer. Proud of him."

Four of USF's top five receivers followed Golesh to Auburn, including Singleton, and each of them will work to become elite wide receivers in the SEC this season.
