Auburn's next opponent falls out of US LBM Coaches Poll before showdown

Auburn football's Week 3 opponent has been knocked out of the latest US LBM Coaches Poll despite winning its most recent game by a wide margin.
The Florida Gators, who were ranked No. 25 in the US LBM Coaches Poll ahead of their Week 2 game with Campbell, have fallen out of the rankings before Week 3's SEC showdown with the Auburn Tigersdespite beating the Camels, 52-3, in The Swamp, and were replaced by the Virginia Cavaliers, who are 2-0 after picking up wins over NC State and Norfolk State to open the 2026 season.
Both Auburn and Florida are now in the "receiving votes" category ahead of this Saturday's SEC clash at Jordan-Hare Stadium, and the winner is all but expected to join the coaches' poll rankings next week.
The Texas Longhorns are this week's new No. 1 team after storming back to upset last week's top team, Ohio State, in Austin. The Buckeyes fall to No. 6, with Miami, Indiana, Notre Dame, and Georgia all taking advantage of Ohio State's defeat.
In all, nine SEC teams are in this week's coaches poll. Texas and Georgia rank No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, while LSU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Alabama round out the top 10. Tennessee moved up four spots to No. 14 after winning its road game at Georgia Tech, and Missouri rose one place to No. 22 after its rivalry win at Kansas. The biggest loser this week was the Oklahoma Sooners, who dropped 11 spots to No. 22 after losing their road contest at Michigan. The win over the Sooners pushed the Wolverines to No. 19, a five-spot increase from Week 2's poll.
