Few venues around the nation are feared by teams as much as Autzen Stadium. The Oregon Ducks are known for packing the stadium and making enough noise to impact the game on Saturdays, earning a reputation as one of the loudest and most difficult places to play in the country.
The upcoming EA Sports College Football 27 video game ranked the top 25 toughest places to play around the country, and the Ducks found their home venue near the top. Autzen Stadium checked in at No. 6 on the list, up three spots from last year’s edition of the video game.
The Ducks seldom lose when playing in Eugene. Despite only holding 60,000 fans, the Oregon crowd makes a difference in big games, throwing the opposing offense off its game and slowing down the game operations. Oregon held the nation’s longest winning streak at home at 18 before losing to the eventual national champion Indiana Hoosiers in October.
Still, Autzen Stadium wasn’t the highest-ranking Big Ten venue on the list. Ohio State’s Ohio Stadium ranked second on the list, while Penn State’s Beaver Stadium checked in at No. 3. The Ducks rode into the “White Out” at Penn State last season and escaped with a double overtime victory, and will look to do the same this season when they travel to face the Buckeyes in November.

It is a bit of a shock not to see Autzen Stadium ranked as the toughest Big Ten venue, given the noise and impact from Oregon’s crowd compared to Ohio State and having defeated Penn State on the road last season.
LSU’s Tiger Stadium took the top spot on the list, holding over 100,000 people. Georgia and Alabama ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, just ahead of the Ducks. Florida, Tennessee, Clemson and Texas A&M’s home venues rounded out the top 10.
Washington’s Husky Stadium ranked No. 15 and Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium ranked No. 19 on the list. Oregon secured victories at both stadiums last season. Among the rest of the Big Ten, Michigan Stadium, the largest venue by capacity in the country, ranked No. 12, and Indiana‘s Memorial Stadium placed No. 17.
Autzen Stadium will get to show off its game-changing impact this fall with several big games coming to Eugene. Oregon will host Boise State to kick off the season, and later host UCLA, Michigan and Washington in pivotal conference games.
