Badgers win total projection revealed for 2026 season

The last few years have not gone as expected for the Wisconsin Badgers, who had their worst season as a program since 1990 this past season, going 4-8 on the year.

But there is room for more optimism this season, as Wisconsin splurged in the transfer portal to create a better roster this offseason, upgrading all across the roster, including at quarterback.

That, paired with a better schedule on paper, has the Badgers trending up as spring ball nears an end. But how many games will Wisconsin actually win this season?

On Monday, BetMGM revealed its win total for the Badgers in 2026, setting the projection at 6.5 wins, with the over slightly favored at -135 odds, while the under sits at -105 odds.

Here’s Wisconsin’s full schedule for 2026:

Week 1: vs. Notre Dame (Lambeau Field)

Week 2: vs. Western Illinois

Week 3: vs. Eastern Michigan

Week 4: at Penn State

Week 5: vs. Michigan State

Week 6: Bye Week

Week 7: at UCLA

Week 8: vs. USC

Week 9: at Iowa

Week 10: vs. Rutgers

Week 11: at Maryland

Week 12: at Purdue

Week 13: vs. Minnesota

When you look at the schedule, there are some tough games that stand out. The season opener against Notre Dame might be Wisconsin’s toughest game of the year. Then, Wisconsin gets head coach Matt Campbell’s Big Ten opener when they face Penn State on the road in Week 4. Later, they’re traveling to Iowa for the rivalry game, while they’ll host Minnesota to end the year.

But there is notably no Ohio State, Oregon, Indiana, or Michigan on the docket.

When you look at the quirks of the schedule, the Badgers’ lone West Coast trip comes off a bye week, making the travel to UCLA more manageable. They’re also getting six of the seven worst Big Ten teams from a season ago (although Penn State should be far better in 2026).
