Basha football prospect Jake Hildebrand breaks down his top colleges

Chandler Basha offensive tackle Jake Hildebrand, The Republic's No. 1 football prospect in the 2027 class, this week announced his top four colleges, with Arizona State being among them.

The others are Utah, Texas A&M and Oregon.

Hildebrand, 6-foot-6, 275 pounds, commented on what he likes the most on each of the four to The Republic via direct message.

Utah's culture

"I chose Utah because of their proven ability to develop offensive linemen at a high level. And, bringing in (offensive line coach) Jordan Gross, who played at Utah and in the NFL, shows that they have NFL-caliber talent and knows what it takes to go there."

Arizona State's home

"I chose Arizona State because of the vision coach Kenny Dillingham has for the program and the opportunity to develop under (offensive line) coach Saga Tuitele while representing my home state."

Texas A&M's tradition

"I chose Texas A&M because of the tradition of the program under coach Mike Elko and the chance to grow as a player under (offensive line) coach Adam Cushing while competing in the SEC."

Oregon's championship culture

"I chose Oregon because of the championship culture coach Dan Lanning has established and the development opportunity with (offensive line) coach A'lique Terry in one of the top programs in college football."
