Bear Bachmeier Heisman Trophy Odds Surge after Notre Dame Win

Bear Bachmeier didn’t have the most eye-popping stat line, but those that watched the Notre Dame game saw the all-around impact Bear had in BYU’s upset over the Fighting Irish. DraftKings released its latest Heisman Trophy odds after week 7 games and Bear is up to 6th best odds to win the Heisman at +2400. Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith is the favorite.

Bear had four total touchdowns versus Notre Dame game, which included two on the ground, one passing, and one receiving touchdown. Through 6 games this season, Bear has 1257 passing yards, 9 passing touchdowns, and 2 interceptions while completing 66% of his passes. Also notable is that he has only taken three sacks. On the ground, Bear has rushed for 284 yards and 6 touchdowns. He also has his 15-yard receiving TD versus Notre Dame.

If BYU continues to win, Bear will have a chance to make his way to New York City for the Heisman Trophy ceremony. He’ll need to continue to carry a big load; LJ Martin will likely miss at least the next two games.
