ESPN College GameDay traveled to Oxford, Mississippi, in Week 3 for Lane Kiffin’s return to Ole Miss in one of the most highly anticipated games of the 2026 college football season.
The Rebels and LSU Tigers play at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC tonight in a matchup of Top 10 teams. A lot more is at stake than Kiffin’s feelings, but there appeared to be a focus on that in the crowd on GameDay.
Lane Kiffin is a regular target for funny College GameDay signs every week, but with his new school visiting his old school, the gloves were off.

One sign featured a scene from The Godfather: Part 2, where Michael gives Fredo the kiss of death. That’s how badly Kiffin hurt the fans.

One of the mass-produced signs featured the first names of Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy and was meant to look like a classic Ole Miss presidential ticket sign.

Morgan Freeman, the GameDay guest picker, even made it onto a sign. A younger Ole Miss fan had a Shawshank Redemption sign that kind of misunderstood the assignment. If Kiffin is the one who disappeared here, that means that Ole Miss was the prison and he crawled through a river of sh– (the reaction? the media?) and came out clean on the other side at LSU, which is basically a beach. That being said, very unique sign.

There was also a serious allegation made against Sam Leavitt. Though maybe he really did drink some bad soy milk earlier this week which is why he briefly appeared on the injury report as “doubtful.”
