Betting odds released for Michigan vs Western Michigan

The Michigan Wolverines start their season at home at Michigan Stadium against an in-state opponent from the MAC — Western Michigan.

The Broncos have faced the Wolerines in the past but haven’t had any luck to this point. Michigan is 7-o all-time against Western Michigan with two blowout wins in the last decade — 47-14 in 2021 and 49-3 in 2018.

Betting odds indicate another blowout could be in store on Saturday night.

Per FanDuel Sportsbook, Michigan is a 27.5-point favorite, with the over/under set at 48.5 points. The last time Michigan won their home opener by 27.5 points or more was in 2022 when they defeated Colorado State 51-7. The past two years they’ve won by 17 points (34-17 vs. New Mexico in 2025) and 20 (30-10 vs. Fresno State in 2024).

While there’s plenty of reasons to be excited about Michigan’s offense under new offensive coordinator Jason Beck, the unit shouldn’t be expected to be a well-oiled machine right out of the gate. Even with Bryce Underwood expected to be improved during his sophomore season along with offensive weaposn like running back Jordan Marshall and dynamic receivers in Andrew Marsh and JJ Buchanan, blowing out Western Michigan by nearly four touchdowns shouldn’t be expected. However, if it happens it would be impressive and bode well for how the offense performs in the games to come.
