Big Bend football's top FHSAA playoff performers of area's remaining teams

It started with eight.
Now just five Big Bend football teams remain in the FHSAA state tournament, with the second round set to begin for area squads this Friday, Nov. 21.
Madison County and Taylor County are still in the Rural playoffs. Maclay is in the Class 1A bracket, while Florida High competes in the 2A bracket, and Godby competes in the 3A bracket.
Chiles isn’t in the FHSAA playoffs, but it is playing in the inaugural Florida Invitational Tournament. The Timberwolves host Land O’ Lakes this Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m.
The Big Bend had some top performers in the first round of the FHSAA state playoffs.
Here’s who showed out amongst the quintet of teams still in play to contend for a state title in Miami this December.
Offense
- Beau Beshears, Maclay, Quarterback: 15-for-20, 197 passing yards, four touchdowns, one interception
- Landon Dougherty, Godby, Quarterback: 11-for-15, 224 passing yards, three touchdowns
- Jayme Miller, Florida High, Quarterback: 10-for-18, 170 yards, four total touchdowns
- Deandre Flowers, Taylor County, Running Back: eight carries, 114 rushing yards, one touchdown
- Mike Jones, Florida High, Running Back: 21 carries, 89 yards, two touchdowns
- Kamren McMillan, Godby, Running Back: 24 carries, 156 rushing yards, two touchdowns
- Ryshard Miller, Madison County, Running Back: Four carries, 82 rushing yards, one touchdown
- Anthony White, Maclay, Running Back: 25 carries, 129 rushing yards
- Kaleb Barnes, Godby, Offensive Lineman: Four pancake blocks
- Landon Stenson, Godby, Offensive Lineman: Five pancake blocks
Defense
- Vern Faulk, Taylor County, Defensive Lineman: Nine tackles, four tackles for loss,
- Ayden Dunnell, Taylor County, Linebacker: 14 tackles,
- Bryan Sardinas, Taylor County, Linebacker: 11 tackles, one tackle for loss
- Hunter Sheheane, Maclay, Cornerback: Six tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks

- Rural: Madison County (6-5) at Blountstown (10-0): Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
- 1A: Maclay (8-3) at Trinity Christian Academy (7-4): Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
- 2A: Florida High (5-6) at Bolles (10-1): Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
- 3A: Godby (5-6) at Bishop Kenny (9-2): Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
- Rural: Taylor County (10-1) vs. Pahokee (8-3): Friday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
