Big East team trending for a big UNC basketball recruiting target

Michael Malone and the North Carolina Tar Heels continue to prepare for the 2026-27 college basketball season as practice is underway. It will be the first season under the new head coach and he enters this year with high expectations.

While we won't have to wait long to see what this UNC team looks like on the court, the future of the program is in recruiting. Malone and his staff have their first true recruiting cycle with the 2027 class and they have some big targets on their board.

But on Tuesday, there was some potential bad news.

Florida product Jordan Page has been on UNC's radar for a while now and he would be a big get for the Tar Heels in terms of their roster for next season. However, it looks like another program is emerging as the favorite.

The UConn Huskies have picked up a crystal ball prediction for Page on 247Sports by recruiting analyst Travis Branham. It's the first prediction on 247Sports for Page and while they aren't guarantees, there's an indication of who leads in the recruitment.

Page is fresh off a visit to UConn on September 18th. He also visited UNC back on September 12th for the football home opener.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Page is ranked No. 10 overall, the No. 3 small forward and No. 6 player in the state of Florida per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
