Blake Anderson is officially the new Southern Miss football coach.

Anderson, who started the season as the offensive coordinator before being named interim head coach on Dec. 7, was promoted on Dec. 11

“He brings a wealth of experience and a 10-year run as a successful head coach. … Blake is an exceptional leader, a great communicator, and has the respect of the players and the staff throughout the Duff Center,” athletic director Jeremy McClain said in a school release. “We look forward to supporting him at the highest level and continuing the positive momentum for our program.”

Anderson takes over for Charles Huff who left the program to become the coach at Memphis.
