Four-star defensive lineman Jamarcus Johnson, a 2028 prospect, took a game visit last September to see Florida State when they beat the Kent State Golden Flashes. That trip came four days after he got a scholarship offer from the Seminoles.
The 6-foot-5, 308-pounder has seven game visits locked in for the upcoming season. He doesn’t have one set up to go to Tallahassee, but he will see FSU on Oct. 17 when they play the Miami Hurricanes on the road, per Brendan Sonnone of 247Sports. He'll also travel to see the Baylor Bears (Sept. 5), Ohio State Buckeyes (Sept. 12), Texas A&M Aggies (Oct. 24), Oklahoma Sooners (Nov. 7), LSU Tigers (Nov. 21), and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (Nov. 28).
Johnson is the No. 42 recruit in the country and the No. 5 defensive lineman per 247Sports composite rankings. He's ranked as the state of Georgia's No. 7 prospect as well.
At the moment, Johnson has 15 offers. However, he has named eight schools in particular that have established themselves as the leaders in his recruitment, and this list includes FSU.
"Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, Miami, LSU, Georgia and Alabama, and Florida State," Johnson said.
Johnson is coming off a productive sophomore year. He didn't register any sacks, but he did amass 49 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one pass breakup.
