Blue Water football standouts make Michigan Sports Writers all-state

PORT HURON — Whether it was Almont’s 13-win season, or Port Huron Northern seeing two of its players sign to Division I colleges, Blue Water Area high school football had plenty to celebrate in 2025.

Well, let the celebration continue.

More than a dozen local athletes were named to one of the Michigan Sports Writers All-State football teams this week.

Here are the players that were recognized, along with their positional categories.

Division 1-2

Second Team

Lincoln Watkins, Port Huron Northern, Sr. (Receiver)

Honorable Mention

Amir Morelan, Port Huron Northern, Sr. (Defensive Back)

Division 3-4

Second Team

Mike Gorman, North Branch, Sr. (Running Back)

Shane Slanec, Croswell-Lexington, Sr. (Receiver)

Zach Haywood, Yale, Sr. (Offensive Lineman)

Eli Bickel, North Branch, Sr. (Offensive Lineman)

Honorable Mention

Jax Johnston, Croswell-Lexington, So. (Quarterback)

Drew Kryscynski, Marysville, Jr. (Offensive Lineman)

Jack Fagan, Croswell-Lexington, Sr. (Linebacker)

Division 5-6

First Team
