Tennessee sophomore defensive back Boo Carter plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.
“Tennessee defensive back Boo Carter plans to enter the Transfer Portal, he tells On3,” Fawcett announced on social media.
The 5-foot-11, 200-pound defensive back totaled 63 tackles, three pass deflections, two sacks, three forced fumbles, one interception and 343 punt return yards from 2024-25 with the Vols.
Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel discussed Carter following the Vols’ win against New Mexico State in Week 12.
“At the end of the day, there’s a standard that you have to meet to be in that locker room,” Heupel said. “He was not out on the field with us. That will be the last, my last response, to anything related to that for right now.”
Tennessee will next play at Florida on Saturday in Week 13. Kickoff between the Vols and Gators is slated for 7:30 p.m. EST (ABC) at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Florida.
