Boom! Ohio State football lands four-star 2027 defensive tackle

Boom! Ohio State received a pretty sizable commitment from four-star defensive tackle Karlos May on Saturday. Out of Ramsay High School in Ramsay, Alabama, May is ranked as the No. 15 defensive lineman and 135th overall prospect in the 2027 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

May had been thought to be an Ohio State lean as of late, but in today’s world of Name, Image and Likeness, you just never know. In the end, the pull of a program like OSU and defensive line coach Larry Johnson won out over the other three finalists, Auburn, Georgia, and Florida State.

The Buckeyes landing May is another example that we’ve seen recently of Big Ten teams, and Ohio State in particular, going down into the heart of SEC country and landing elite talent. OSU picked May straight out of the backyard of Auburn and Alabama, and adds to a recruiting class that is adding some exceptional players.

May is the fifth commitment from the defensive line for the class, and one that is shaping up to be the best unit we’ve seen coming to the banks of the Olentangy in quite some time. OSU’s class currently has nineteen members with the news, and is ranked as the No. 7 class overall in the country based on the 247Sports Composite Team rankings.
