LSU football has continued its tradition of selecting a new No. 18 every season. For the 2026 Tigers, the No. 18 has been selected, and the prestigious honor has been given to starting center Braelin Moore. LSU made the announcement this morning via a post on X.
This will be Moore’s second season at LSU and his fifth season of college football. He began his career at Virginia Tech, where he played his first three seasons. Moore becomes just the second offensive lineman and starting center to be given the honor of wearing No. 18 since the tradition began. The last to do so was Lloyd Cushenberry III in 2019, when he helped lead the Tigers to a national championship. Maybe that’s a good sign for the Tigers heading into this upcoming season.
Moore is also only the second transfer player to receive the honor, following former transfer defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo, who was selected to wear the number in 2023.
It’s a well-deserved honor for Moore. He’s a proven leader and a veteran on this team.
How do you feel about Moore being named No. 18? Who do you think will be No. 7?
