The Wisconsin Badgers won yet another big recruiting battle on Saturday, as they landed a commitment from three-star defensive lineman Yahzeen Zion, he announced.

Wisconsin beat out the likes of LSU, Oklahoma, and Mississippi State for Zion, who wasn’t a guarantee to commit to the Badgers heading into the weekend. But Wisconsin closed once again on a top target and added another edge rusher/defensive lineman to their 2027 class.

Zion, a 6’4, 265-pound defensive lineman, hails from Arizona and plays at Desert High School, where Wisconsin has made some recruiting ground in recent years.

Wisconsin has options with Zion, who could be a jumbo edge or bulk up and play more on the interior. But he joins Isaac Miller as the second edge prospect in the class, and the Badgers may not be done.

Wisconsin is also hosting three-star Texas Tech commit Brody Pfannenstiel on a visit this weekend and hosted three-star Chicago edge Darin Graham last weekend. Either could become a third commit for Wisconsin on the edge in the 2027 class.

Wisconsin is up to 18 commits in the class, and they’re not done yet. Now, following Zion’s commitment, let’s see who the Badgers can land from their remaining pool of targets this weekend.
