The TCU Horned Frogs have reportedly agreed to a contract extension with head football coach Sonny Dykes, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Dykes, who has been the head coach since late 2021, led the Horned Frogs to the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2022-23. Dykes has a 23-15 record over the last three seasons at TCU, which won the New Mexico Bowl over Louisiana in 2024 and the Alamo Bowl over USC in 2025.

Dykes had been under contract through 2028, but his extension will tie him to the university beyond that year. TCU has finished 9-4 over the last two seasons, ranking fifth and seventh in the Big 12 Conference over those two seasons, respectively. The Horned Frogs went 5-7 and took 10th in the conference during the 2023 campaign. Prior to arriving in Fort Worth, Dykes coached at SMU (2018-21), Louisiana Tech (2016-18) and Cal (2013-16).
