Florida standout freshman wide receiver Dallas Wilson is staying at Florida for the 2026 season.
Wilson announced a new NIL deal with Florida Victorious on Wednesday, Dec. 31, making the decision official. This is the most significant retention for Jon Sumrall and his staff so far this offseason. Florida has lost several receivers to the transfer portal, including Aidan Mizell and Eugene Wilson III.
A five-star recruit, according to the On3 industry rankings and 247Sports composite, Wilson signed with Florida as the No. 19 overall player and No. 2 receiver in the class of 2025. He made his collegiate debut with an explosive performance against No. 9 Texas, hauling in six catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns, setting three program records for a true freshman receiver in their first career start. He was named the SEC Freshman of the Week as a result.

Wilson played in three more games — at No. 5 Texas A&M, vs. Mississippi State and vs. No. 5 Georgia — adding six more catches for 63 yards and a touchdown to his season total. He left the Georgia game early due to an injury and sat out the remainder of the season. While unfortunate, the injury allowed Wilson to redshirt and preserve a year of eligibility.
The expectation is for Wilson to be the top wideout at Florida next season, with fellow freshman Vernell Brown III lining up opposite him. Brown and Wilson serve different roles in the offense, with the latter providing a big-bodied presence on deep shots downfield. Brown is more likely to line up in the slot and add yards after the catch.
Retaining both players makes Florida a very desirable landing spot for any transfer portal quarterbacks, should Sumrall decide to go that route instead of starting freshman Tramell Jones Jr. All eyes turn to running back Jadan Baugh now as the player with the highest profile who has yet to make a decision.
Florida players who have re-signed with the Gators
While Florida has lost more than two dozen players to the transfer portal, several notable names have publicly announced their intention to re-sign with the Gators.
Quarterback Tramell Jones Jr., wide receivers TJ Abrams and Vernell Brown III, offensive lineman Roderick Kearney, defensive linemen Joseph Mbatchou and Jeramiah McCloud, edges Kamran James and LJ McCray, linebackers Aaron Chiles and Myles Graham and defensive backs Lagonza Hayward, Dijon Johnson and Bryce Thornton have also announced new deals with Florida Victorious.
Tight end Amir Jackson also reversed his decision to enter the transfer portal.
