Former LSU defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko has accused NFL and college football officials of influencing game outcomes, claiming he was threatened with losing his pension after previously speaking out about officiating.

Fehoko made the allegations on social media following Notre Dame’s controversial 28-24 defeat to BYU, which ended with a disputed final play that sparked fresh debate over the officials’ decisions.

The former NFL player, who won a national championship with LSU in 2019, suggested that questionable officiating was not limited to one level of football.

Breiden Fehoko makes serious allegations about NFL and college football referees

Taking to X, Fehoko claimed that players were aware of officials allegedly manipulating games during his NFL career. He also alleged that his previous criticism of the league led to threats involving his pension.

Fehoko wrote: “I won’t even be quiet about it no more. When I played in the NFL we all knew officials were rigging games certain ways. It happens at the college ranks. Last year when I put the NFL on blast about it they threatened to pull my pension. ____ em. The world deserves to know.”

Fehoko played college football for LSU before beginning his professional career with the Los Angeles Chargers. He also spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

However, he did not identify specific officials, games or individuals allegedly involved in manipulating results. He also provided no documentation to support his claim that his pension had been threatened.

The allegations therefore remain unverified, and Fehoko’s playing experience alone does not establish that either the NFL or college football games have been rigged.

The timing of his comments has drawn attention to Notre Dame’s defeat to BYU, particularly the final offensive play involving wide receiver Jaden Greathouse.

Notre Dame attempted a late pass towards Greathouse, but no pass interference penalty was called, prompting questions about whether the officials should have intervened.

Head coach Marcus Freeman declined to criticise the referees after the game, describing the final sequence as chaotic and explaining that BYU’s defensive pressure influenced the decision to target Greathouse.

While the disputed call has fuelled debate, it does not provide evidence to support Fehoko’s wider allegations. His claims about being threatened over his pension are also yet to be independently corroborated.
